⁣Real Madrid have won a penalty shootout in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League for a fourth time – now the outright most of any side in Europe’s premier competition.



⁣Conor Gallagher scored the earliest ever goal by an English player in a UEFA Champions League game (27 seconds), while it was also the earliest Atlético de Madrid have ever scored in the competition.



⁣This is the fifth time that Atlético have been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League knockout stages (incl. finals) by Real Madrid; only Bayern Munich (7 v Real Madrid) have been eliminated by a single opponent more often in the competition’s knockout rounds.
