Team USA is still unbeaten after two games at the FIBA World Cup. They are heavy favorites to defeat Jordan in their third meeting on Wednesday.

Team USA won their first game against New Zealand 99-72 after dominating the contest. Then, on Monday, Team USA defeated Greece with ease, winning 109-81. They will now play Jordan on Wednesday to round up their three-game round-robin. In overtime, Jordan lost to New Zealand 95-87 and Greece 92-71.

Team USA was headed by Paolo Banchero, who scored 21 points against New Zealand, and Austin Reaves, who scored 15 points in their victory over Greece.

Even with two significant victories already secured, Team USA has yet to really blow a team out of the water. The spreads have been relatively similar for their three matchups, but there hasn’t been a monster blowout as many expected. With Team USA tuning up before the elimination rounds, we expect them to want to break out to a comfortable lead and coast in the second half. As a result, although we’re not comfortable backing them to cover the full game spread at 41.5, we believe there’s merit in them covering the first-half spread 0f 22.5. That’s priced at -111, and we feel this is a nice number to get it at.

Although there aren't many well-known players on this Team USA roster, they still have a very deep roster, which is a significant advantage in a competition like this. If you have depth and some of your players aren't shooting well in a particular game, you can afford to switch up your lineup based on what's working that day since you know the depth will still allow you to compete at a high level. Due of this, it is harder to project players to exceed their point props. Despite this, Anthony Edwards has yet to truly have his tournament debut despite much talk about him being a star in the NBA after the first two games.
