Five days after their stunning Champions League semi-final comeback, Inter Milan are set to revive their slim Serie A title chances with a win against Torino on Sunday.

Despite earning worldwide praise for ousting Barcelona, Inter lag three points behind Napoli in the race for the Scudetto, with only three matches left.

Described by some as 'the most epic European clash ever,' Inter's 7-6 triumph over Barcelona—spanning two thrilling legs in Montjuic and Milan—showcased the peak performance of Italy’s defending champions.

With just three minutes remaining, Barcelona staged a comeback to lead 3-2 on Tuesday, only for veteran defender Francesco Acerbi to surge forward and hammer in an equalizer, paving the way for extra time.

In the added 30 minutes, substitute Davide Frattesi coolly slotted home the decisive goal, igniting frenzied celebrations at San Siro—so intense that the midfielder nearly collapsed from the exertion.

Now preparing to face a youthful Paris Saint-Germain in this season’s Champions League final, Simone Inzaghi’s battle-hardened squad must refocus on domestic challenges.

Before aiming for a fourth European Cup in Munich, Inter will take on Torino, Lazio, and Como in Serie A, where they trail Napoli by three points after recent stumbles.

Although they secured a narrow home victory against Hellas Verona last week, Inzaghi will be concerned by his team’s 2025 dip: after eight consecutive away wins, the Nerazzurri have managed just one victory in their last seven league games on the road.

In their latest outing, a late penalty from Nikola Vlasic earned a 1-1 home draw against relegation-battling Venezia, keeping Toro 11th in the table, with Como and Udinese as their primary competitors for a top-10 spot.

That strike also preserved their strong record as one of four Serie A teams—alongside Bologna, Roma, and Napoli—yet to lose at home in 2025.
