Strasbourg will be seeking to take their Ligue 1 compact undefeated run into the 2024-25 season’s gameweek 7 when they host Lens on Sunday afternoon at Stade de la Meinau.

The hosts have taken their selves to nine points and arenow eighth in the league log after the first six matches, the guests on the other hand are one point and two places ahead of the hosts.

After conceding a three-goal lead as they lost 4-3 at home to Lyon before the previous international break, Strasbourg has stepped up in the last month and now they are aiming for a fourth consecutive match without a defeat.

Le Racing was unfortunate to register consecutive stalemates against Angers and Lille in the last month but stood firm against a barrage of Marseille attacks in the last round when they shocked their visitors 1-0, their first triumph against them for 13 years.

Diego Moreira the man that enshrined a quite twenty-year barren spell for victory against Les Phoceens became a permanent member of the team this summer from sister club Chelsea of the English premier league.

Before Liam Rosenior, Strasbourg lacked aggression especially in high pressing, an aspect that was seen last weekend when the team was the better side for most of the time and made life difficult for Marseille when in possession of the ball.

However the worry;
As for the new boss there is the lingering concern that his side have thrown away far too many points this season from winning positions and they have done this against Montpellier, Lyon, Angers & Lille in the first six games of the new season.

It is also important to remember that when these teams clashed here earlier this year RB Lens emerged victorious with a 1-0 win while they completed the double over this team last season with a 3-1 victory at home at home on February.

Les Sang et's winning run against Le Racing already stands at three games, and a victory this weekend would give them a record-breaking four straight victories over Strasbourg in the top tier.

Will Still's team has not been particularly convincing lately, though, despite having a strong league standing. They have lost their last five games across all competitions, starting with a Conference League qualifier loss to Panathinaikos and going on to four straight league draws.

During their dismal streak, they only just managed to salvage a point against Monaco and Rennes courtesy to stoppage time equalizers in both games. The most recent of those ties occurred last weekend at home against Nice (0-0).

Lens has the greatest defensive record in the division during the last four gameweeks, giving up only two goals, but they also have the weakest attack of any side in the league, scoring just two goals in that time frame.
