On matchday 29 of the Scottish Premiership, St. Mirren hosts Celtic FC at the SMISA Stadium. In the league standings, Celtic leads by 13 points, while St. Mirren is in seventh position. This is our prediction for the match.

St. Mirren lost all three points in a 3-1 away league loss to Hearts after producing a shock last time out against Rangers FC, winning 2-0 on the road.

Due to their difficulties in the last third, when they went blank five times, the Buddies suffered their sixth defeat in nine games.

At home, their prospects in this match appear bleak. They have gone four games without a victory, suffering three defeats and managing just one draw.

Celtic FC delivered the perfect response to their 2-1 away loss against Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership. They bounced back in style with a dominant 5-1 home win over Aberdeen on Tuesday.

That victory was their seventh in nine league matches, during which they netted 26 goals while conceding only three.

However, their away performances have been inconsistent, with two wins, two losses, and two draws in their last six league fixtures. Despite this, the Bhoys remain strong contenders for three points, especially after their convincing 3-0 away win against St. Mirren in their last road game.

The Hoops were in midweek action and ended up cantering to a 5-1 win against third-placed Aberdeen. However, it was a strange game, with the Dons passing up five good opportunities, while Celtic appeared quite sloppy at times. But being Celtic, they were clinical and got the job done easily in the end, as they continued their procession toward another league title. Hibs showed last week that there are vulnerabilities in this Celtic side by beating them at Easter Road.

They now face a Saints team who looked like they would follow up their shock result at Ibrox by winning at Tynecastle after going a goal up in Edinburgh. However, they wilted late on, and Hearts ended up winning the game, much to the frustration of Saints boss Stephen Robinson. Now, Saints will have to try and find a way to bounce back as they aim to claim an Old Firm double within a week.
