Sheffield United and Bristol City will play at Bramall Lane on Tuesday, both hoping to build on recent winning streaks at the top of the Championship table.

With a victory over the weekend, the home team tied league leaders Leeds United, while their visitors are only two points behind them for the last playoff spot.

Sheffield United will return to play on Tuesday at Bramall Lane with the goal of winning the Championship for the third consecutive year in order to significantly increase their chances of automatic promotion.

The most recent setback for Bristol City came in early February with a home defeat to Swansea City. However, under Liam Manning's guidance, the team has since rallied, securing three wins and two draws in their last five matches. Among these results were consecutive victories against playoff contenders Middlesbrough and Millwall in late February and early March.

In their clash with Millwall, second-half goals from Zak Vyner and Harry Cornick sealed the win. More recently, Bristol City faced struggling Hull City at home but had to settle for a draw. Anis Mehmeti’s second-half equalizer salvaged a point, despite playing with a numerical advantage for 75 minutes after Joao Pedro’s red card.

Following the frustrating draw at Ashton Gate, Bristol City now sits two points behind second-placed West Bromwich Albion. Their next challenge is a difficult away fixture at Bramall Lane, where a win could propel them into the playoff spots, depending on results elsewhere.

They will have a difficult test, though, as the visitors come to Bramall Lane hoping to improve their chances of promotion this season and exact revenge for a heartbreaking late loss to the Blades in November.

Bristol City has had a rather pleasant start to their tenth consecutive Championship campaign, having improved their playoff chances in recent weeks and amassed 53 points from 36 games, winning 13 of them and losing nine.

With their most recent outcome being a 1-1 draw at home against ten-man Hull City, Bristol City had won all five of their previous games. Liam Manning's team is just two points behind sixth-place West Bromwich Albion and three points behind fifth-place Coventry City, putting them within striking distance of the play-off spots.

Wilder said that although Oliver Arblaster is recovering extremely well, he won't return until the campaign is completed. On the plus side, he appears prepared to start the preseason strong. The remainder of the season will also be missed by Rhys Norrington-Davies.
