On Wednesday at the Bosuilstadion, Royal Antwerp and Porto will resume play in Group H of the UEFA Champions League.After dropping their first two group matches, the Belgian team will be eager to start winning in Europe going into the midweek match.

In the Belgian Jupiler League on Saturday, Royal Antwerp was defeated 3-2 by Sporting Charleroi, sending them hurtling back to earth.

Previous to that, on October 8, Mark van Bommel's team defeated Eupen 4-1, ending their losing run of 5 matches.

Antwerp is now mired in the bottom half of the standings, three points and two spots behind Wednesday's visitors, after losing their first two Champions League games.

Porto, on the other hand, defeated Vilar Perdizes 2-1 last Friday to secure their place in the Taca de Portugal's fourth round.

This came after a 1-0 victory over Portimonense in the Primeira Liga on October 8 that put an end to their string of two consecutive losses.

Porto will now focus on the Champions League. Two weeks prior to losing 1-0 to Barcelona, they began the competition with a 3-1 victory against Shakhtar Donetsk on September 19.

Royal Antwerp and Porto will be playing each other for the first time, and both teams want to start their rivalry strong.Since mid-September, Antwerp has lost three and drawn three of their last seven games in all competitions. They have also failed to win six of those games.With the exception of a 2-0 loss to Benfica in the Portuguese Super Cup on August 9, Porto had won five of their previous six road games.Since August, Van Bommel's team has won four and drawn two of their previous seven home games across all competitions, going undefeated in the process.
