In an attempt to recover from their recent loss in the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain is set to visit Stade Auguste-Delaune II to take on Reims in a Ligue 1 match this Saturday.

These two teams are separated by only two positions and four points in the top-flight standings. The reigning champions currently occupy the second spot, while the hosts are not far behind in fourth place.

Reims had faced a setback a month ago with a 3-1 home defeat against Monaco. However, they have bounced back, accumulating seven points in their last three Ligue 1 matches. This includes a 1-1 draw against Toulouse, followed by two consecutive 1-0 victories over Lorient and Nantes.

In the absence of their suspended head coach, Will Still, his younger brother and assistant coach, Nicolas Still, successfully guided Les Rouges et Blancs to a narrow victory over Nantes last weekend. Junya Ito scored the decisive goal in the 75th minute, marking his first goal since the opening weekend of the season against Marseille.

Reims has gathered 20 points from their initial 11 Ligue 1 matches, winning six times in the process. This represents their best start to a top-flight season since the 1974-75 campaign.

Having finished 11th in the table last season, Still's team currently holds a top-four position this season. However, they face a challenging task to maintain their European qualification hopes, with three of their next four fixtures against teams that finished in the top four in the 2022-23 season.

Before gearing up for matches against Lens and Rennes following the international break, Reims will face a stern test from PSG. It's worth noting that Reims has been unable to secure a win against PSG in their last seven meetings, though they managed to play to two draws with the French champions last season, including a goalless stalemate on their home turf in October last year.

PSG approached their Champions League match against AC Milan at San Siro with high spirits on Tuesday. They had won their previous five games, scoring three goals in each match, including a 3-0 victory over the Italian side just last month.

However, Milan turned the tables on their home turf. Rafael Leao equalized after Milan Skriniar's opening goal, and Olivier Giroud completed the comeback five minutes into the second half. This handed PSG their second defeat in Group F.

In the 'Group of Death,' Luis Enrique's team still has work to do to advance, currently sitting in second place with six points, one point behind the group leaders, Borussia Dortmund. Milan has climbed to third place with five points, one more than Newcastle, who will face PSG next on matchday five in a few weeks.

In Ligue 1, PSG is also second, having won seven of their first 11 matches. They might find themselves four points behind the league leaders, Nice, if Nice wins against Montpellier on Friday night before PSG takes on Reims.

Despite drawing in their previous visit to Stade Auguste-Delaune II, PSG remains confident about their chances on Saturday. They hold an impressive 12-game unbeaten streak in away matches in Ligue 1, having won nine times and scored 26 goals during this run.
