Real Sociedad will shift their focus back to La Liga this upcoming weekend, as they prepare to host Osasuna at the Reale Arena. The team recently engaged in Copa del Rey action, securing a 0-0 draw against Mallorca in the first leg of their semi-final. Conversely, Osasuna faced a 3-0 defeat against Celta Vigo in their league fixture last weekend.

This marks a hectic period for Real Sociedad, as they juggle participation in three different competitions: La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the Champions League. Their recent Copa del Rey outing against Mallorca ended in a goalless draw, positioning them favorably for the return leg at home later this month.

Looking ahead, Real Sociedad faces a significant challenge in the form of an upcoming Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain. Their performance against the French champions will be closely watched.

Notably, Real Sociedad has seen a series of draws lately, with their last three matches ending 0-0, including encounters against Rayo Vallecano and Girona in La Liga. With 37 points from 23 matches, they currently sit in sixth place in the league standings, trailing Athletic Bilbao by eight points in fifth.

Despite their commendable record of only four losses in La Liga this season, the team's tally of ten draws has hindered their pursuit of a top-four position.

Osasuna, on the other hand, have encountered difficulties replicating their performance from the previous season, where they secured seventh place in La Liga and reached the Copa del Rey final.

Under Jagoba Arrasate's management, Osasuna currently sit in 12th position, having garnered 26 points from 23 matches, placing them nine points adrift of Valencia in seventh position before the upcoming fixtures.

Their recent form has been less than ideal, with just one point obtained from their last three league outings: a draw against Sevilla followed by losses to Barcelona and Celta.

While Osasuna have managed to accumulate 11 points from their 11 away matches this season, which isn't entirely disappointing, Real Sociedad has displayed impressive home form, having lost only once in front of their supporters in the league so far.

Although Osasuna held Real Sociedad to a 1-1 draw earlier this season, the Basque side emerged victorious with a 2-0 win in their previous encounter during the 2022-23 campaign.

Real Sociedad has faced a series of challenges due to injuries this season, with five key players - Sheraldo Becker, Alvaro Odriozola, Kieran Tierney, Aihen Munoz, and Carlos Fernandez - ruled out for the upcoming match due to fitness issues.

Following their international commitments, Hamari Traore and Takefusa Kubo are expected to retain their positions in the starting lineup after featuring in the recent game against Mallorca.

Andre Silva may lead the attack in the center-forward role, potentially replacing Umar Sadiq, while Mikel Merino, Martin Zubimendi, and Brais Mendez are likely to maintain their roles in the midfield trio.

On the other side, Osasuna's head coach Arrasate could have a full squad at his disposal, with Unai Garcia returning from suspension and expected to reclaim his starting spot.

Despite no reported injury concerns for Osasuna leading up to the match, there are anticipated changes from their previous 3-0 defeat to Celta Vigo.

Aimar Oroz and Jose Arnaiz, who made appearances off the bench in the last game, may be considered for starting roles, alongside Kike Barja, who is also under consideration by the manager for potential lineup alterations.
