On matchday six of the Scottish Premiership in 2024–25, Rangers, who are now in third position in the standings, will play Hibernian, who are currently in ninth place, at the Ibrox Stadium.

In their first five league games, the hosts have won three, drawn one, and lost one, while the visitors have only managed one victory and two draws, earning them just five points.

Rangers appear to be picking up the tempo in their most recent games after having a slow start to the 2024–25 season.

After seven games in all competitions, Philippe Clement's team has only achieved three wins. They have suffered two losses and two draws, including a depressing 3-1 aggregate loss to Dynamo Kyiv in the third qualifying round of the Champions League.

Clement's status at the team was under strain following those early-season failures, but more recently, the Belgian has been able to restore some favor at Rangers thanks to his better play and results.

Rangers have won their past three games in a row, including a convincing 2-0 victory over Malmo in the Europa League opener. This has left them in much better shape heading into their meeting against Hibernian on Sunday.

Rangers' chances of winning the championship this season are already slim, as they now sit five points behind the top two. Clement will need his squad to continue winning.

When the hosts take on a Hibernian team that has struggled this season—winning only four of their first ten games in all competitions, with two draws and four losses—they will undoubtedly be favorites for an easy win.

After beating St Johnstone 2-0 at home in their most recent match, the visitors did, in fact, eventually record their first victory in the Scottish Premiership. David Gray will be hoping that his team can build on that success in their next games.

With two weeks to spare since their previous contest and three games played by the hosts, Hibernian do have a tiny advantage over them going into Sunday's fixture.

Hibs, on the other hand, have not been able to win against Rangers in their past ten matches since they triumphed 3-1 in November 2021.

Following off their thrilling 2-0 victory against Malmo in the 2024–25 Europa League opener, Clement may decide to start with the same lineup this time around.

With seven goals in ten games across all competitions this season, Cyriel Dessers has been in excellent form and is predicted to start at the front of the line against Hibs.

Kieron Bowie is anticipated to be out for the visitors, and Martin Boyle has been out because of surgery on his hand and wrist for an issue that has bothered him all season.
