A fourth-round EuroLeague matchup between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Panathinaikos will take place.

One of Panathinaikos' first three EuroLeague games has resulted in a victory. They specifically fell to Fenerbahce after winning against Bayern, though more difficult than anticipated, and losing to Olympiacos in the season opener.

Clearly, it will take some time for a fully new team to gel with as many as 12 players who did not wear the Panathinaikos jersey during the previous campaign. Additionally, the Greek team has a new coach, Ergin Ataman, who is attempting to impose his coaching philosophy. The hiring of Mathias Lessort to work in Athens appears to be the most admirable decision thus far. The results of the game, however, show that the other players have yet to live up to expectations. The team is still hampered by Kostas Sloukas' injury since the Greek veteran is not producing at the level that is expected. Juancho Hernangomez initially had a difficult time adjusting to European basketball. If they want to achieve greater results, these problems require immediate action.

Due to many changes this season, the OAKA arena is crowded, and the supporters of Panathinaikos are strong. If they want to defeat Maccabi, this will be essential. At least thus far at home, Olympiacos upset them in overtime, and their lone victory came in Athens.

Maccabi Tel Aviv won their first match in the EuroLeague by defeating Partizan on their home court. They had to postpone their second-round game because of the Israeli conflict, and Valencia, a Spanish team, defeated them in the third round.

It is clear that the team's mood is being substantially impacted by the situation in Israel. To be more specific, Maccabi Tel Aviv first relocated all of their foreign players to Cyprus, where local players eventually joined them. The squad is facing additional difficulties as a result of the postponed EuroLeague game and Wade Baldwin's injury, who is one of their top players. As a result of Lorenzo Brown's underwhelming performance against Valencia, their current form was exposed. Out of the 12 shots he took, he only succeeded with three. Bonzie Colson, who appears to be in terrific competition shape and is putting on performances consistent with last season, is undoubtedly a silver lining for coach Oded Kattash.

In the last ten years, Maccabi Tel Aviv has won just two EuroLeague games in Athens versus Panathinaikos. This number by itself says a lot about the difficult opponent they face in their quest for victory. We anticipate a tightly contested game based on all we've seen thus far in the season, in addition to the multiple injury issues for both sides. Maccabi Tel Aviv is unlikely to repeat their dismal shooting performance from Valencia, while Panathinaikos comes into this matchup as a clear favorite. We foresee a game that will be determined in the last seconds since the Israeli team should never be taken lightly. This implies, therefore, that Maccabi Tel Aviv won't lose by a margin bigger than the handicap provided.
