Paris Saint-Germain will keep chasing an unbeaten Ligue 1 campaign as they head to Stade de la Beaujoire to take on Nantes this Tuesday evening.

Originally scheduled for last weekend, the match was postponed to allow PSG extra preparation time for their Champions League clash against Aston Villa, much to the frustration of the Nantes squad.

With the Ligue 1 title already secured, PSG are now chasing history, aiming to be the first team in the competition’s history to go an entire season without a loss.

Under Luis Enrique’s leadership, PSG are also strong contenders to defeat Reims in the Coupe de France final and are among the top favorites to claim the Champions League, potentially achieving a historic treble for a French side.

With only five games left in the 34-match Ligue 1 season, Nantes, their next opponents, hold the record for the longest unbeaten start in the league with 32 games, a milestone PSG are poised to surpass in the coming weeks.

After a two-week break from Ligue 1 action, PSG returned with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Le Havre at home last weekend. It wasn’t their finest performance, but it secured another step toward their goal.

That result marked their 10th consecutive Ligue 1 win, a feat not accomplished since the 2018-19 season. However, Nantes, their upcoming challenge, are one of the few teams to have earned a point against them this season.

Despite dominating with 84% possession and completing an astonishing 1,008 passes in their previous encounter, PSG could only manage a 1-1 draw against Antoine Kombouare’s resilient Nantes side, a rare hiccup in a dominant record that includes 22 wins in their last 25 matches against the Canaries.

Still, PSG have scored in 27 straight games against Nantes, the longest such streak against any single opponent in the club’s history.

Nantes ended a five-game losing run against the Parisians in the rematch, but with six losses in their past nine Ligue 1 games, it seems unlikely that they will repeat the accomplishment.

One of those occurred on Friday night, when the Canaries played the last 30 minutes with 10 men and were denied a point away to Rennes, who were playing well.

Although PSG's victory over Le Havre helped them avoid relegation by keeping them three points above the drop zone, Marcus Coco's red card ultimately proved to be their downfall as youngster Mohamed Meite scored the game-winning goal four minutes from time.
