The Minnesota Timberwolves hope to break their three-game home losing streak during their matchup against the Denver Nuggets at Target Center on Saturday.

Denver aims for their seventh road victory in a row while attempting to break their current loss streak against Minnesota dating back to their postseason victory from last season.

The Minnesota Timberwolves earned their fifth victory in six recent road matches by beating the Dallas Mavericks 115-114 at the American Airlines Center on Wednesday night.

On their way to Dallas for their latest matchup the Timberwolves had just overcome the Mavericks 105-99 on Christmas Day but now sought their first two-game winning streak against their opponent since December 2023.

The Mavericks' offensive presence Luka Doncic was out and Kyrie Irving combined with P. J. Washington to score 66 points yet Jaden McDaniels connected on a season-best 27 points to guide Minnesota to victory.

Six Timberwolves surpassed double-digit point totals during the match with Jaden McDaniels leading the pack along with Antony Edwards (21 points) and Mike Conley who placed third with 18 points while contributing eight assists and five rebounds.

Chris Finch's team experienced consecutive losses at home starting with their 124-117 defeat against the Cleveland Cavaliers followed by a 108-106 loss to Memphis Grizzlies as their homecourt losing streak reached three.

The Minnesota Timberwolves currently sit in ninth position of the Western Conference standings following a 23-44 season record equivalent to one victory above the Phoenix Suns who occupy the tenth Play-In spot with an additional regular season match played.

With a 27-16 record from their 43 games this season, Michael Malone's team is now two victories behind the Memphis Grizzlies in third place in the Western Conference standings and in fourth place overall.

The Sacramento Kings, who have lost both of their previous encounters since February 2024, will be the first club the Nuggets play at home before traveling to the Target Center to try to win their seventh straight road victory.

Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets are making waves in the Western Conference, surging up the power rankings with an emphatic 144-109 blowout victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.

Nikola Jokic once again stole the show at Ball Arena, delivering a masterclass with 27 points, 10 assists, and 13 rebounds to secure his fourth consecutive triple-double and 19th of the season. His performance powered Denver to their 27th win of the campaign.

The Nuggets showcased a well-rounded team effort, with six players finishing in double figures. Julian Strawther posted a career-high 23 points, while Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr. each added 19 points.

Denver are currently riding a three-game winning streak, having dispatched the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, and 76ers. They've claimed victory in seven of their last eight outings, with their sole setback coming in a 128-108 loss to the Houston Rockets on January 16.
