The NBA will bring an interesting match between the OKC Thunder and the Memphis Grizzlies. At present, OKC are four games ahead of Memphis at the top of the Western Conference ladder.

The Thunder stands at position nine of the entire league, the team has achieved 10 consec/ive wins except the cup final. Mike Daigenualt’s men have performed well in the current year and at this juncture have shocked opponents in 25 out of the 30 played.

They have played 12 of the 14 victories at home and also have won 16 times against other teams in the West region. The second-best team in OKC is coming back home after a 106-94 victory on the road in Charlotte.

The Grizzlies lost in the last five games against the Thunder to be more precise. But being in splendid form, they will be assured of stopping that always losing sequence.

Taylor Jenkins’ men, who have won their last two matches, now stand at 22-10. The current league leaders in the offensive rating are Memphis, who scored 143.5 points per game over the last two games.

They beat the Pelicans 132-124 in a game that marked the start of a five-game road swing. The victory was bittersweet though as the lead shooting-guard, Ja Morant, has been in and out of the team due to injuries, the latest one saw him leave midway through the game.

He will not be around, and becomes the fifth player to be unavailable for this trip.
For the first time in the match between Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday, the lead changed hands for 11 times before a thrilling last quarter saw the OKC emerge 120-114 winners at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

That was the show of activity that both the Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder exhibited on Friday as by the time the dust had settled, the later took the earlier 120-114 in the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Following a 41 point outing against the Washington Wizards on Christmas day, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered another solo performance which saw him make 15 of 22 shot attempts, sink a monster 3 point shot to make it 114-109 the Thunder with 59 seconds to the final buzzer, to post a career best 45 points.

Daigneault’s men have come out victorious in the four games since they lost the 2024 NBA Cup championship match 97-81 to the Bucks on December 18 and have been spectacular in the last match since December 4, registering 9 out of 10.

After a good last campaign in the Western Conference, the Thunder has returned true contenders for the coveted title taking the upper spot for the moment they won 27 of their 31 battles.

Before the game that will see Oklahoma face the Memphis Grizzlies, the Oklahoma are on the road for the last time this year when they visit the Spectrum Center to take to Hornets on Saturday night.

This will be the first time that Daigneault’s side will play the hornets this year though the team have continued to triumph over the Hornets this year; trouncing the them 126-106 at the Paycom Center in February, this team has also mastered a 121-118 victory over the hornets on April 7.

Guard Ja Morant shot efficiently scoring 8-11 field goals, 3-4 from the three-point line for his 25 points while forward Zach Edey had 14 points and nine rebounds in 27 minutes of play.

The Grizzlies have now claimed four of their last five, the only blot on that copybook being the 114-110 reverse at the hands of the Los Angeles Clippers on boxing day and the team is 4-1 in their past five away from home since December 8.
