The upcoming match between Le Havre and Rennes at the Stade Oceane will play out with five points between them in the Ligue 1 league standings.

Their recent crucial double victory has lifted Le Havre beyond the relegation area while Rennes holds position at 12th due to their previous loss.

Le Havre returns to the Stade Oceane to pursue their third consecutive Ligue 1 victory that would strongly support their mission for survival in the top flight.

Le Club Doyen occupied the automatic relegation position with 21 points from 26 matches before March after collecting only six wins while suffering from 17 losses and yielding 55 goals.

Didier Digard's team won their return match by outscoring Nantes 3-2 after Pembele scored the winner in the 88th minute while Toure scored two earlier goals.

Montpellier surrendered twice in the first half during their basement match-up against Le Havre last Sunday before Kechta and Toure scored goals to secure the 2-0 victory.

With three consecutive wins Le Havre aims to extend their ascent towards safety in the league while currently holding the 15th spot since obtaining those match results.

During the first 20 matches Rennes occupied the position in the relegation playoff area until their new manager Habib Beye took charge and led the team to safe accomplishment.

Although Les Rennais won four of their first five games under the new manager from early February to early March, they have now lost three of their last four games, putting them all but out of the top half. Their first losses came against Lens and Paris Saint-Germain prior to the international break.

Arnaud Kalimuendo's brace and Ismael Kone's goal helped Beye's team defeat Angers 3-0 on their return to action. However, last weekend, they suffered their 16th league loss of the season as Auxerre came to Roazhon Park and took all three points, with Jubal scoring the lone goal in the 89th minute.

Rennes will want to bounce back to winning ways and start a stronger finish to a dismal Ligue 1 campaign. With six games left, they are now in 12th place, six points above the bottom three, and six outside the top 10.
