Kosovo vs Armenia

On Friday, Kosovo will host Armenia at the National Stadium in Pristina for an international friendly match.

Kosovo enters the game with high spirits, having secured victories in their last three competitive matches. The team, led by coach Franco Foda, achieved a historic milestone by earning promotion to the second tier of the UEFA Nations League with a 5-2 aggregate win against Iceland.

The Dardanians have been in top form, maintaining a three-game winning streak since November 2024. During this run, they’ve demonstrated offensive prowess, netting six goals while allowing only two. Kosovo aims to extend their winning streak to four and continue their unbeaten record at home since September.

In contrast, Armenia has faced significant challenges recently. Their hopes of advancing to the UEFA Nations League’s second tier were dashed after a crushing 9-1 aggregate defeat to Georgia in the promotion/relegation play-off in March.

The visitors have struggled, managing just two wins in their last 10 matches, alongside one draw and six losses. Their defensive vulnerabilities are evident, having conceded 21 goals in those games. Armenia, known as the Havakakan, have yet to defeat Kosovo in their two prior encounters, recording one draw and one loss. A victory on Friday would mark their first triumph over the hosts, though it seems a tall order given their current form.
