Real Betis will move to Poland for the Conference League quarter-final second-leg match against Jagiellonia Bialystok.

The visitors maintain advantage over the hosts after their 2-0 win in Spain last week which creates a challenging task for the Polish team to convert this tie.

Jagiellonia considers their participation in UEFA's main competition this season successful regardless of the Thursday result because they entered the top draw for the first time this year.

The team finished one goal short of qualifying for the league top eight yet advanced to the next round after winning 6-2 through aggregate scoring before taking on Cercle Brugge in the last-16 stage.

The draw for Jagiellonia became possible due to their 3-0 win against Cercle with ten men in the home match yet they narrowly made the quarterfinals following a 2-0 defeat in the return match which they later reproduced in the away tie against Betis.

Their chances to advance in the round of 32 against Betis appear slim because they face an enormous challenge to reverse the current tie before facing Fiorentina or Celje in the upcoming semi-finals.

The team will carry a positive frame of mind into the Thursday match since they secured a 1-0 win against Legia Warsaw on Sunday which keeps them in third position with a four-point deficit behind leaders Rakow Czestochowa.

Each Conference League home victory has resulted in a minimum two-goal advantage for the club in addition to four wins out of five home games (D1).

Betis, who placed 15th in the league, defeated Gent of Belgium 3-1 on aggregate to start the knockout stages. They then defeated Vitoria Guimaraes of Portugal 6-2 on aggregate, including a decisive 4-0 victory on the road.

Los Verdiblancos then advanced to the semi-finals with a triumphant home game last Thursday, albeit given their domination in the match, they might have been a little disappointed to only win 2-0.

Jesus Rodriguez became the club's fourth-youngest goalscorer in UEFA competition after Cedric Bakambu opened the scoring with his sixth Conference League goal of the season, the most any Betis player has scored in a single European campaign.

That outcome increased Betis' winning streak to nine games in the league, but Sunday's 2-1 home loss to Villarreal ended that stellar run, leaving Los Verdiblancos in sixth place in La Liga and three points outside of fifth place, which could earn them a spot in the Champions League.

In order to make it to a European semi-final for the first time in their history, Manuel Pellegrini's team must first negotiate Thursday's second leg before attempting to get their top-five bid back on track in Sunday's matchup with Girona.

Since losing 2-1 to Mlada Boleslav in November, the visitors have won all three of their Conference League away games without giving up, which is encouraging.
