p>Inter Milan will face Hellas Verona at San Siro Stadium on Saturday after a short hiatus that followed their six-goal harmonious match in Spain.

Since their impressive performance in Barcelona Inter continue to suffer consecutive Serie A losses against their opponents while Napoli has stretched their lead ahead of the Coppa Italia quarter-finals and Hellas Verona remains in a delicate position for survival in the league.

Thuram returned to the field after 30 seconds to execute a smart flick that gave Inter a lead while Dumfries added a second goal for the Nerazzurri before halftime although Barcelona responded to tie the score 2-2 during the first half. San Siro will host a decisive match between the teams after Dumfries netted twice while Barca responded to recover into the tie.

Inter must initially fight to maintain their position in the Scudetto race before the season ends since Napoli now leads them by three points with only four fixtures remaining.

Since their defeat to Roma the team of Simone Inzaghi has experienced two consecutive scoreless losses which followed their painful elimination from the cup at the hands of AC Milan. The Inter team now appears drained of its renowned form.

The Inzaghi-era teams display their worst form in April and May because these months have become their toughest challenge for Serie A victories as they have accumulated 12 league defeats in each season.

His 36% loss rate in May 2025 will prompt him to pivot his team's performance by defeating Verona since these opponents hold a special place in Inter's heart.

The Nerazzurri have secured victories against Hellas a record number of times in Serie A (41) through 117 goals scored during which Thuram tallied two goals during their November 5-0 rout at the Bentegodi stadium.

History is firmly against Verona as they head to San Siro this weekend. In their 66 previous top-flight visits—against both Inter and Milan—they’ve never managed a single victory.

Hellas Verona’s recent form offers little hope either. Like Inter, they’ve lost their last two league matches without scoring, including a 2-0 defeat to fellow strugglers Cagliari on Monday. Currently 16th in the table, they remain just seven points above the relegation zone.

Their survival hopes aren’t lost yet, though. With games against relegation rivals Lecce and Empoli still to come, Paolo Zanetti’s side still control their own fate.

However, their lack of firepower is a major concern. Since the turn of the year, Verona has scored just six goals in 16 matches, failing to find the net in 10 of those games—the worst attacking record in Serie A this season.

Given their struggles in front of goal, even Inter’s recently vulnerable defense may have little to fear.
