Inter Milan may edge closer to securing this season's Serie A title as they prepare to face struggling Empoli at San Siro on Easter Monday.

Under Simone Inzaghi's guidance, Inter were denied their 11th consecutive league victory in their recent match against Napoli before the international break. Now, they are eager to bounce back and claim a win against Empoli in gameweek 30, particularly on their home ground.

The last fixture at San Siro was overshadowed by allegations of racism involving Francesco Acerbi and Juan Jesus. However, Acerbi has been cleared due to lack of evidence, making him eligible for selection for Monday's game.

Inzaghi is determined to see his team return to their winning form after their 1-1 draw with Napoli halted their impressive 11-match winning streak in Serie A. Their last defeat on home turf was against Bologna (2-2) in October, ending a nine-game winning streak.

With their disappointing exits from the Champions League and Coppa Italia earlier in the season, Inter's primary focus is now on securing their 20th Scudetti in the remaining weeks of the season.

Barring any significant setbacks, Inter are on course to claim their second star. They currently hold a commanding 14-point lead over second-placed Milan, with Juventus trailing by 17 points as of now.

Although Inter suffered a defeat in the corresponding fixture against Empoli last season (1-0 in January 2023), this season's Inter team presents a formidable challenge. The home crowd will undoubtedly expect nothing less than a victory on Monday.

Empoli's decision to bring Davide Nicola on board immediately sparked a positive change in their performance, resulting in three victories and an equal number of draws. However, their recent string of three losses has halted this momentum.

During these defeats, Empoli failed to find the net, with each loss coming by a narrow margin of one goal. This underscores the team's resilience and determination, which could serve them well in their battle to avoid relegation, especially considering their current 17th position in the league standings.

While losing to strong teams like Milan and Bologna could be somewhat understandable given their high standings in Serie A, the 1-0 defeat against Cagliari might sting Empoli more, given the importance of securing points in relegation battles.

Even if Empoli suffers a fourth consecutive league loss, it wouldn't be catastrophic given their current standing and the historical context of their past encounters with their upcoming opponent. Empoli has only managed to win two out of their last 20 meetings (with 17 losses) in the top flight.
