Inter Miami vs Orlando City

On Sunday, Orlando City will travel three hours to Fort Lauderdale’s Chase Stadium for the first all-Florida clash of the 2025 MLS season against Inter Miami.

Following a 3-1 victory against Charlotte FC midweek, the Lions hold sixth place in the Eastern Conference, trailing Miami by just one point after the Herons settled for a 3-3 draw against the San Jose Earthquakes.

Inter Miami has struggled to find their usual consistency since late April, securing only one win in their last six competitive matches. Javier Mascherano’s squad has conceded 12 goals in their past four MLS games but managed to stay competitive by scoring 11 times in those matches.

The Herons have earned just one point from their last two league games, risking a winless streak as long as their worst from the previous season. Surprisingly, Miami has dropped points in half of their regular-season matches this year (3/6), including two losses in their last three competitive games at Chase Stadium.

Despite trailing first, Miami has fought back to earn points in two regular-season matches this year, collecting four points from those comebacks. Historically, they’ve dominated Orlando City at home, winning three of their last four encounters across all competitions, including the last two at Chase Stadium by a combined score of 8-1.

Orlando City, after a rocky start with just one win in their first four games, has hit its stride. Oscar Pareja’s team is unbeaten in their last 10 league matches, positioning them just two points behind Nashville SC for a top-four spot in the Eastern Conference.

While the Lions have been prolific at home, scoring three or more goals in five regular-season games, their away form has been less potent, failing to score in their last three domestic road matches. However, they’ve lost only once away from home this season and kept clean sheets in their last three league games on the road.

With 21 points after 13 matches, Orlando City has improved on their 2024 season, surpassing their point total at this stage last year by four. They’ve earned points in two of their last three MLS meetings with Inter Miami but haven’t won at Chase Stadium since a 3-1 victory in 2023.
