The longest MLS undefeated streak at Chase Stadium would be a franchise record if Inter Miami can defeat Atlanta United on Wednesday or draw with them.

The Herons maintained their top spot in the Supporters' Shield standings, one point ahead of FC Cincinnati, with a close 2-1 victory against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Five Stripes' winless streak in this tournament now stands at nine games after they lost 1-0 at home to Los Angeles FC.

Despite the fact that Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Luis Suarez were all 100% fit, Tata Martino took a chance this past weekend by sitting them against the Caps.

The risk paid off as the Herons' eight-game winning streak in the Major League Soccer (MLS) was maintained, and they had only allowed one goal in their last three league games combined.

In addition to being unbeaten in their previous five league games at Chase Stadium, Miami has drawn first blood in two straight league games and is unblemished while doing so domestically this season.

In their first 13 domestic games this season, the Herons have conceded the first goal on ten of those occasions, making it unusual for them to score first, although eight times they have recovered to take at least a point.

They won their tenth game of the 2024 regular season on Saturday, which ties them with FC Cincinnati for the most thus far. They also managed to win more games than Miami did in the previous domestic campaign.

The Herons have won the last three home games against the Five Stripes in all competitions and have never lost in their previous six matches in Fort Lauderdale.

Atlanta United is having its worst regular season start in team history as they sit at 13 points after 14 league games.

Gonzalo Pineda is now under pressure since the Five Stripes have only won one point in their past five games in this league.

Only two fewer than their 2021 campaign, Atlanta's current domestic winless streak is the second-longest in a single MLS campaign (11).

The Five Stripes have lost four of their six league games played away from Mercedes-Benz Stadium this season, and they have yet to triumph in an away regular-season encounter.

The Five Stripes had just two less losses in 2024 after seven domestic losses at the conclusion of the 2023 regular season.

In addition to being the first for this team in Fort Lauderdale, a win on Wednesday would just be the second time they have defeated Miami in back-to-back league games—winning 5-2 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in 2023.
