Despite stumbling in Game 1, the Indiana Pacers bounced back in the following two games to take control of the series. Notably, the Pacers displayed superiority during the regular season encounters against the Bucks, emerging victorious in four out of five matchups despite being labeled as underdogs on each occasion.

In a thrilling Game 3, the Pacers clinched a hard-fought 121-118 overtime triumph at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Despite surrendering a 19-point lead, the Pacers managed to secure the win in a fiercely contested match marked by continuous momentum shifts. Tyrese Haliburton contributed 18 points, 16 assists, and 10 rebounds, while Myles Turner achieved a playoff career-best with 29 points. Bennedict Mathurin will be absent from the Pacers lineup.

The Bucks encountered a significant setback when Giannis Antetokounmpo sustained a calf injury towards the end of the regular season, sparking concerns about the injury potentially escalating into an Achilles issue, which is the last thing they need. Meanwhile, Damian Lillard's participation in Sunday's game remains uncertain due to a strain, with both stars likely to miss Game 4. In the previous game, Khris Middleton assumed a leadership role for the Bucks, delivering an impressive performance with 42 points and 10 rebounds.

Milwaukee adjusted their defensive tactics against Siakam, frequently assigning Portis to defend him and resorting to double teams in the paint. Should Siakam rediscover his form in Game 4, it could pose challenges for the Bucks. Milwaukee's defense has struggled on away turf this season, conceding an average of 118.0 points per game. Despite numerous efforts, they have managed to restrict the Pacers to under 120 points only once in eight encounters. With uncertainties surrounding the availability of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, and Chris Livingston sidelined, the Bucks confront a daunting situation.

The Indiana Pacers clinched a significant victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday, prevailing 121:118 in overtime, with Tyrese Haliburton emerging as the standout performer by sinking a crucial shot moments before the game's end. Now, Rick Carlisle’s squad will seek to deliver a decisive blow to their counterparts from Wisconsin.

Haliburton had an impeccable performance across the board. Not only did he net the floater for the victory, but he also notched a triple-double with 18 points, 16 assists, and 10 rebounds. Despite his poor three-point shooting (1/12), he displayed near-perfection inside the paint. When the Bucks’ defense honed in on him, he adeptly found solutions and provided open opportunities for his teammates. While Pascal Siakam put in a solid effort in Game 3, it was Myles Turner who dominated proceedings. Additionally, Aaron Nesmith, despite his struggles with three-pointers (1/7) like Haliburton, managed to sink a crucial shot in overtime when it counted most.

Although renowned for their fast-paced style in the NBA, the Indiana Pacers have shown discipline in this series. With Giannis Antetokounmpo sidelined, they hold the advantage in rebounding and commit fewer turnovers. This combination could be the key to success in Game 4.

The Milwaukee Bucks squandered an excellent opportunity to seize control of the series on Friday. Despite holding a lead in the fourth quarter, they failed to capitalize on several opportunities in the closing minutes of regulation. Even Khris Middleton, with his two pivotal three-pointers, couldn’t secure the win.

Game 3 marked one of Middleton’s standout performances in his career. Despite a remarkable effort, including a tough three-pointer to force overtime and a banked-in three-pointer to level the game with six seconds remaining in overtime, his 42 points and 10 rebounds weren’t sufficient to secure victory for the Bucks. Damian Lillard ended the game with 28 points, but his shooting accuracy from the field (6/20) suggests inefficiency. Although Head Coach Doc Rivers made adjustments compared to Game 2, it wasn’t adequate. The Bucks are receiving minimal contributions from their bench, and if Antetokounmpo remains sidelined, this will need to change for them to level the series at 2-2.

The Milwaukee Bucks predominantly rely on one-on-one play in their offensive maneuvers. While Lillard and Middleton possess the quality to challenge the Indiana Pacers’ defense in this manner, they require additional support. Defensively, they’ve performed adequately in two of the three games, but there's room for improvement.
