French Guiana hosts Honduras on Thursday at Stade Municipal Dr Edmard Lama, still looking for their first CONCACAF Nations League top-tier triumph.

While La H lost 2-1 to Jamaica on matchday two last month, Les Yana Dokos managed to escape with a 0-0 draw against Trinidad and Tobago.

French Guiana, who have only given up once in the Nations League this season (a 1-0 loss to Nicaragua), have shown themselves to be a difficult defensive unit to break down for a novice team at this level.

They earned their first-ever League A point on matchday two by limiting one of the previous season's quarterfinalists to just two attempts on goal.

Despite playing excellent defense and giving up just one goal in their past three competitive games, Jean-Claude Darcheville's team has failed to score in three of their last four games in all competitions.

French Guiana hasn't lost back-to-back games in the same Nations League season since losing 2-0 at Belize in 2019 after losing 1-0 vs Grenada.

Their prospects of qualifying for the tournament's knockout stage would be formally eliminated if they lost on Thursday and Nicaragua and Jamaica drew.

French Guiana defeated Honduras 3-1 in a Gold Cup playoff match in March 2015, their first and only time hosting the Hondurans. However, they lost the second leg of that match in Honduras 3-0 and were not eligible to compete in that tournament.

The Hondurans punished for their poor defensive performance against Jamaica in the second half after winning 4-0 over Trinidad and Tobago in their opening match.

They lost their first Nations League match in Honduras since June 2022 (losing 2-1 to Curacao), which put an end to their four-game winning streak at home in the tournament's group stage.

Los Catrachos have lost all four of their previous road games in this competition, scoring just one goal during that time, including their 2-0 loss to Mexico in the Nations League quarterfinals at Estadio Azteca last season.

With a win on Thursday, Reinaldo Rueda's team would advance to one of those automatic knockout round positions, since they are only one point from a top-two finish in Group B.

This squad has lost their last two meetings in all competitions when tied at halftime since defeating Bermuda 6-1 in a 2026 World Cup qualifier in June with five goals in a row.

Since defeating Curacao 1-0 in a June 2022 Nations League encounter, Honduras has not triumphed on Caribbean land, although winning their last two games against French Guiana by a total score of 6-0.
