Faroe Islands vs Armenia

Faroe Islands will play Armenia at Torsvollur on Thursday in their third match of the UEFA Nations League C group stage.

With one point from two games, the host team is last in their four-team group, while the visitors are in second place with three points after losing 2-0 to North Macedonia in their most recent game on September 10.

Last time out, Faroe Islands lost 1-0 against Latvia in the Nations League. The game was well contested, with Faroe Islands creating three of their own opportunities and Latvia creating two significant ones.

The hosts drew 1-1 with North Macedonia on September 7, their third draw in their previous five Nations League games, in their opening encounter of the 2024–25 competition.

With eight points from six games in League C, Faroe Islands were third in their four-team group in the 2022–2023 campaign. They were five points behind group champions Turkey, who were promoted to League B.

The team led by manager Hakan Ericson is in bad form; in their last 15 games, they have lost 12, drawn 2, and won just once, going 11 games without scoring.

The fact that his club has lost four and drawn one of their last five home games, despite winning three and losing three of their last six games at Torsvollur, will further worry Ericson.

After being hired in January 2023, manager Oleksandr Petrakov won two of his first four games in charge, but he lost seven of his next nine games and drew two.

Petrakov's team has won two of their last three games, including their September 7 Nations League opener against Latvia, which they won 4-1.

In reality, Armenia has lost 14 of its last 20 away games, drawn five, and won just one. They have also lost their last six away games.
