AC Milan aims to salvage their Serie A top-four ambition by facing Empoli during their upcoming Saturday evening match.

Milan continues to occupy the eighth position in Serie A while moving ahead in Champions League and Coppa Italia following their recent victories.

The victory at San Siro allowed AC Milan to secure a tie in the semi-finals of Coppa Italia where they will face Inter Milan or Lazio after defeating Roma with a 3-1 score.

The Rossoneri secured their third Derby della Madonnina win during the intense league match against Inter which had happened three days before that victory.

Despite keeping their narrow advantage until stoppage time the team led by Sergio Conceicao nearly pulled off a victory that would have repeated their Supercoppa Italiana triumph from January.

Serie A standings put Milan in an inferior position than Inter who dominate the table after a turbulent season challenge for European qualification continues.
