Dominica and the British Virgin Islands, both searching for their first points in the second round of CONCACAF World Cup 2026 qualifying, will face off at Windsor Park in Roseau on Wednesday.
In their most recent qualifier, Dominica suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat to Jamaica, while the British Virgin Islands, known as the Nature Boys, were defeated 4-0 by the Dominican Republic. This leaves them at the bottom of Group E, with Dominica just above them due to goal difference.
Match Preview
Dominica showed late fight in their last qualifier, scoring twice in the final 10 minutes against the seasoned Reggae Boyz, though it wasn’t enough to secure a point. Manager Ellington Sabin will take heart from his team’s resilience compared to their 6-0 loss to Guatemala in the opening match of this round.
The Caribbean side is currently enduring a seven-match winless streak across all competitions, with their last victory coming in September 2024 against Antigua and Barbuda (2-1) in the CONCACAF Nations League. However, their defense has shown improvement, keeping three consecutive clean sheets, including two in friendly matches against Barbados last month.
Dominica’s last home win at Windsor Park was a 3-1 friendly victory over Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on May 15, 2022. They remain unbeaten against the British Virgin Islands, having won their most recent encounter 2-1 in November 2023.
The British Virgin Islands, meanwhile, have struggled in the second round, conceding seven goals without reply in their two matches. Under manager Chris Kiwomya, they advanced to this stage via a penalty shootout against the US Virgin Islands. Kiwomya, an Ipswich Town Hall of Famer, has yet to secure a competitive win in normal time since a 3-1 Nations League victory over Turks and Caicos in September.
Despite their challenges, the Nature Boys have shown slight progress, drawing two of their three matches in 2025 and conceding no more than one goal in their last four international games. However, their away form remains a concern, with no goals scored in five of their last six road matches. Still, they’ve managed to earn results in their last two visits to Dominica.
