When the New York Knicks host the Detroit Pistons at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night, they hope to win five straight games. With a 14-8 record, the Knicks move up to fourth place in the Eastern Conference, while the Pistons enter the game in 11th place with a 9-15 record.

The Knicks appear to be among the leading candidates for the championship this season as they are truly beginning to come together. They defeated the Hornets 125-101 at home on Thursday, their fourth consecutive triumph.

Now, they'll want to finish their four-game home trip with a perfect record. The Knicks have an 8-2 record at the most renowned arena in the world.

Karl-Anthony Towns' outstanding performance is a major factor in New York's triumph. The 29-year-old averages 13.2 rebounds and 25.2 points (45% from three-point range) per game.

Early in the season, the Pistons shown some positive indications, but they have been having trouble returning to their winning ways.

Detroit's 130-120 away loss to the Celtics was their third straight loss and their eighth in the previous ten games. They are currently 7.0 games behind their rivals in the rankings today and six games below.500.

This season, the Knicks' offense has significantly improved. They are second in field goal percentage (49.9%), second in three-point shooting (40.1%) from outside the arc, and sixth in scoring (118.3 points per game). Then, six Knicks players are scoring more than ten points a game on average.

Karl-Anthony Towns leads the team with 25.2 points a game, while Jalen Brunson is not far behind with 25.1 points. At 7.5 assists per game, Brunson also leads the league in assists. The Knicks' offensive success is largely due to Brunson, but Karl-Anthony Towns has been excellent since joining in the offseason and has made things much simpler for him.

In this game, the Knicks are the superior team. The Pistons should be able to compete in this game because they appear better than they did the previous year, but the Knicks are playing quite well. The Pistons have dropped three straight games and four of their last five, while the Knicks have won four in a row. The Pistons feel like they have a great chance here, but they lack the talent to compete with the Knicks. Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson will be the top players on the court. In this game, the Knicks should win and cover at home.

Last year it was a complete mess, while this season they seem to be at least slightly better. Cade Cunningham has been good, and realistically the same has to be said for Jaden Ivey this year. This team goes as Cunningham goes though, especially in this match-up against the New York Knicks and how physically the Knicks choose to be. This will be an interesting matchup because we have been going in three consecutive games without winning.

Knicks included have been doing rather well after a slow beginning to the season. Their role is Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns because they are two players who get the ball in the paint for scores on a surefire level on the team chart. Of all the NBA teams currently on the roster, the Knicks have the potential to play in the Eastern Conference this year. This should be an entertaining game because the Knicks were coming to this game tonight with four game winning streak.

Detroit Pistons were a horrific team on the offensive end last season, and this year has not been much different. They are 21.st in scoring average 110.1, 17.th in field goals, shooting 46.2% field goals, 16.th in three-point field goals shooting 35.8%.

Four Pistons have scored more than double figure this season. Offensive wise, Cade Cunningham has performed best for his team averaged 23.7 point finishes per game. He also averages in assists with 9.1 per team play before any other player in the team. After Jaden Ivey, Cunningham has been the heartbeat that powers this team forward, and at the backcourt. The Pistons and this offense ahd a lot of problems and they have a difficult game against the Knicks. Knicks are physical and will turn this into a ‘cold shower’ match.
