Congo DR vs Mali

The friendly match between Congo DR and Mali will take place at Stade de la Source on Thursday, as this is their first international meeting.

All of these teams’ previous seven matches in senior level tournaments have ended with Les Leopards winning three and the Eagles winning the other four.

They seem even in terms of skill, but things have not gone well for the Congo DR on the pitch lately, losing to Mali in both encounters with a score of 6:0.

On the contrary, the team now has a chance to start over on a good note, since they are coming off three consecutive triumphs.

On March 21, Mauritania was beaten 1-0 by the Leopards and four days later they secured yet another 2-0 win on the road in Mauritania which helped them remain first in Group B of the World Cup qualifiers.

This follows Congo DR already making it to the entire Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco by topping their group and with dreams of another global appearance coming true, the Central African country have a slender one-point advantage over Senegal.

Desabre and the Ugandan team will start June with a friendly against Mali which is followed by a match against Madagascar, presenting another good chance to work on their rhythm for the last round of qualifiers.

The points from friendly outings are not ranked, but they are added into the FIFA rankings coming up in July, where the country will hope to rise from their previous position of 61st.
