Como and Torino are three spots apart in the Serie A standings as they prepare for their gameweek 32 clash at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia on Sunday.

Under Cesc Fabregas, Como are almost guaranteed to remain in the top tier next season, while Torino, their visitors from Turin, have little left to chase in the final stretch, with relegation fears behind them and European qualification out of reach.

Como celebrated their first away win since mid-February, and their first Serie A victory since beating Napoli nearly two months ago, virtually locking in their place in the league.

With four points from their last two top-flight matches, Como head into the weekend with 33 points, sitting nine points above 18th-placed Empoli with seven games to go.

The Lariani could solidify their position further with a sixth home win against Torino, building on their current three-game unbeaten run in front of their home crowd.

However, those five points from recent matches could have been nine if not for late equalizers in 1-1 draws against Venezia and Empoli, underlining Como’s ongoing struggle to keep clean sheets at home and on the road.

Como haven’t managed a shutout in seven straight home games and have only kept one clean sheet away all season—a 2-0 victory over Fiorentina in February—revealing the defensive frailties in Fabregas’s squad.

Torino will aim to capitalize on those weaknesses when they travel to Lombardy this weekend, hoping to complete a season sweep over Como after a 1-0 win in the reverse fixture back in October.

The Granata have been tough to defeat in Serie A since the new year, with their only loss coming against Bologna on February 14.

That 3-2 defeat snapped a seven-game unbeaten streak, though six of those were draws. Recently, Torino have hit their stride with three wins in their last six matches.

Much like Como, Paolo Vanoli’s side has struggled to keep opponents off the scoresheet, managing just one clean sheet—against Monza—in their last seven league games, whether playing at home or away.

However, the Turin team's sole loss throughout this run was a 3-2 setback against Bologna, when they had a 2-1 lead before giving up two goals in the last 20 minutes.

Vanoli's team hopes to extend their winning streak to four games on the road for the second time this season after avoiding defeat in their past three away games.

With relegation all but certain and European qualifying apparently out of reach (Torino is 15 points behind sixth-place Lazio), the Maroons have nothing to aim for in the final weeks other than finishing as high in the rankings as possible.
