After securing their first home win of the 2025 MLS season, CF Montreal will cap off a three-game homestand by hosting Inter Miami at Saputo Stadium this Saturday.

Last weekend, Le CFM edged out New York City FC 1-0, while Inter Miami, also known as the Herons, haven’t played a league match since late May, when they dominated the Columbus Crew 5-1.

Montreal finally celebrated their first home victory of the 2025 season last Saturday, ending June on a high note. With two victories in their last three MLS matches, the Canadian side is gradually climbing out of the Eastern Conference cellar, sitting just three points behind Atlanta United as the weekend approaches.

Under Marco Donadel’s leadership, Montreal has an opportunity not only to potentially escape the bottom of the standings but also to achieve back-to-back wins for the first time this season. Le CFM have led at halftime in four MLS games this year and remain unbeaten when ahead after 45 minutes, winning their last two such matches.

At home, Montreal have been solid defensively in the first half of their recent three matches, conceding just once, though they’ve only managed five goals in the opening 45 minutes of league games at Saputo Stadium this season. Against Florida-based MLS teams, Le CFM have earned points in six of their last seven home games, including a 0-0 draw against Orlando City in April, marking their first home point of the season.

Meanwhile, Inter Miami, fresh off a disappointing 4-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup, aim to close the gap in the Supporters Shield race. Javier Mascherano’s squad is currently 11 points behind the Philadelphia Union for the top spot in the MLS, though they have four games in hand on the teams above them in the Eastern Conference.

The Herons have been prolific in attack during league play, scoring three or more goals in five of their seven MLS matches in May. However, their away form has been shaky, with no wins in their last three road games, during which they’ve conceded 10 goals. Last season, Miami tied for the most away wins in the MLS regular season with 11, but their recent road struggles contrast with their historical success.

Inter Miami have won their last two encounters with Montreal in this competition, including a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory at Saputo Stadium last year, marking their first-ever win at that venue.
