Celtic, on the back of a dilute show in their recent Old Firm derby match, will play their next game in the Scottish Premiership against St Mirren at Celtic Park on Sunday.

He also mentioned that the hosts are position at the summit of the table with fifty points after 19 games played and the visitors are in the fifth position with 27 points in their 21 games.

The Scottish giants continued their brilliant run across domestic kiss across all competitions in their previous league assignment and it was very astounding when they produced their worst performance this season when they were thrashed 3-0 by arch rivals Rangers.

The Gers fired a massive 24 in total with nine of them on target while Celtic could only muster four –one of which was on target – a far cry from the high of 7.3 shots on target per game in the league this season.

It will undoubtedly be a cause of concern for both Brendan Rodgers and the Celtic supporters, though the Bhoys are far ahead at the summit of the Scottish Premiership with a 11-point margin having claimed 16 wins, and two draws in the preceding 18 games.

Such players must be hoping that it was a one off affair as they look to get back on the winning trail something that the club has done this season after losing 7-1to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League by racking up an 18-match unbeaten run.

As a matter of fact, past couple of performances do give the impression as if the Bhoys are the favorites to register a comprehensive win in this particular fixture except for the fact that, Celtic has comprehensively beaten them in the last ten encounters out of which one of the encounters had been a draw.

St Mirren also arrive for this match in poor form having been evacuated each of their recent games – Dundee 2-1 and Kilmarnock 2-0.

These outcomes brought St Mirren to a hopeful fifth place in the league after an optimistic three-game winning streak that included wins against St Johnstone, Ross County, and Rangers.

That represents a significant improvement over Stephen Robinson's team's challenging start to the season, in which they won just two of their first ten league games.

In order to leave Celtic Park with a win for the first time since January 2021, they will now be hoping that their matchup with Celtic comes at the ideal moment following their Old Firm derby loss.

Due to injury concerns, Celtic is set to be without Odin Thiago Holm (calf) and James Forrest (foot) for this game; however, both players are expected to return later this month.

Rodgers will probably make a number of changes in this game due to their dreadfully poor performance in the team's 3-0 loss to Rangers last time out. A midfield shuffle is especially anticipated, with Luke McCowan and Arne Engels possibly starting.

Charles Dunne, the defender for St Mirren, is expected to be the lone player out because of injury; he is expected to be out until later this month because of a hamstring problem.
