In order to improve their chances of surviving, Estoril Praia will go to Estadio Municipal de Rio Maior to play Casa Pia.

The hosts are now in ninth position in the league standings with seven games remaining in the season, with 30 points, while the visitors are in 14th place with 28 points.

This season, Casa Pia has had a change of leadership, with Goncalo Santos taking control in the middle of February following Pedro Moreira's dismissal.

The 37-year-old took over as manager while the squad was in 16th place. He started the reign winning both of his first two games, but lost his next three, including back-to-back losses to Benfica and Estrela before the international break.

However, Os Gansos got back to winning ways last time out at Estadio do Vizela, defeating Vizela 4-0 with to goals from Felippe Cardoso (brace) and Neto and Gaizka Larrazabal (one each).

Casa Pia has been defensively sound under Santos, keeping four clean sheets in six league games. This has been the cornerstone of their ascent under the new boss, until they shown some ruthlessness in front of goal last time out.

With 20 points from 14 games, Os Gansos is in the top half of the league in terms of away records. This season, they have performed better away from home. They haven't played well at home, either, with only 10 points in 13 games—the second-worst record in the division.

A victory at Estoril on Monday is desperately needed, since there are just seven points separating Casa Pia and Portimonense, who are now in 16th position and have secured a relegation playoff spot.

In the nine games between the two teams, the hosts have lost seven and drawn two, never winning. In three elite encounters, Casa Pia has suffered two losses and one tie.

After narrowly defeating fellow struggling team Portimonense 1-0 on March 15, Estoril Praia secured a commanding 1-0 victory against them last weekend, extending their winning streak to two games and boosting their prospects of surviving.

Four minutes after Porto's goalkeeper Diogo Costa was sent off, the Canaries' 34-year-old striker Cassiano—who has now scored in their previous two victories—came through big for them after the first half ended goalless.

It was a tight match as Estoril ended with ten men after Bernardo Vital was given the all-clear, and the visitors were reduced to nine men after Francisco Conceicao was given a second yellow card.

After going five games without a win, Vasco Seabra's team lost four and drew one before winning their final two games to move five points clear of the relegation playoff slot and seven points above the drop zone.

Although Estoril is the most goal-scoring club in the bottom 11, their flimsy defense has failed them down; only four teams in the league have let up more goals than them. But going into the last seven games, Seabra will feel somewhat more confident in his backline after their past two games ended in clean sheets.
