The first day of the FIBA World Cup group stage concludes with a bang as Canada and France meet. It's time to continue our FIBA World Cup odds series with a prediction and choice for Canada vs. France.

These are two of the tournament's top teams. The Canadian National Team features two of the top point guards in the world, bringing a lot of youth and quickness. One of those players, though, will not compete in this World Cup. Jamal Murray, who just won his first NBA Finals trophy, will sit out this tournament to heal his body.Shai Gilgious-Alexander, one of the NBA's top young players, leads the team. R.J. Barrett and fellow OKC Thunder colleague Luguentz Dort are also significant players.

Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves leads the way for France. Even Fornier of the New York Knicks and Nicolas Batum of the Los Angeles Clippers are two other famous NBA players. Guerschon Yabusele, chosen by the Boston Celtics in 2016, now plays for Real Madrid. This could be an intriguing first round game for these two clubs.

Canada is led by one of the world's brightest rising stars. Gilgeous-Alexander has the ability to straight-up ball. Last season, SGA averaged 31.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.6 steals, and shot 51% from the field. He was named to the All-NBA First Team as a result of his domination. The Thunder are in a wonderful position right now since they have him for the foreseeable future. He is now in charge of steering Canada to victory.

Dillon Brooks, Kelly Olynyk, Dwight Powell, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and Zach Edey complete out a strong lineup. Edey is a Purdue University center who stands 7 feet 4 inches tall. Brooks is a tough, defensive player who isn't hesitant to assert himself.

Canada's roster is heavily populated by NBA players, whilst France's squad is heavily populated by European players establishing their presence in either France, Spain, or Germany. Frank Ntilikina was set to participate, but he was hurt in a friendly against Lithuania. Evan Fornier will be in charge of the backcourt, while Gobert and Batum will be in charge of the frontcourt.

Sylvain Francisco is someone to keep an eye on. Francisco, who is only 25 years old, plays for Bayern Munich. Last season in the Greek Basket League, he averaged 12.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.5 steals. Francisco was a member of the Metropolitans 92 in 2017-18, where Victor Wembanyama also played.
