Barcelona vs Osasuna

Barcelona will continue to play Osasuna at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on Saturday night in an attempt to win La Liga.

With 57 points overall, Blaugrana leads the La Liga standings after winning all six of their recent games in Spain's premier division. Osasuna, who haven't won since the beginning of February, is in 11th place.

Barcelona, who have been undefeated in every event since December 21, might have a spectacular season finale. The Catalan powerhouses are playing well in all three of their competitions.

In fact, with 57 points from 26 games, Hansi Flick's team leads the La Liga standings by one point over second-place Atletico Madrid and three points ahead of the defending champions Real Madrid, who are in third place.

Barcelona has only let up three goals in La Liga this season and is on a six-game winning streak in the league, including a 4-0 victory over Real Sociedad last weekend. The club is playing very well.

The Catalan squad is well-positioned to advance to the next round after defeating Benfica 1-0 in the first leg of their Champions League encounter from the round of sixteen in Portugal.

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are locked at 4-4 in their Copa del Rey semi-final clash, with the decisive second leg set to take place at the Wanda Metropolitano on April 2.

The Blaugrana have been the most prolific team in La Liga this season, scoring an impressive 71 goals. Robert Lewandowski has been the standout performer, leading the league's scoring charts with 21 goals to his name.

Celta Vigo have been an entertaining side in Spain’s top tier, netting 38 goals so far. However, their defensive struggles have been a concern, as they have conceded 40 goals—making theirs the joint-third worst defense in the league. Their defensive issues could jeopardize their hopes of securing a European spot, although they did manage a clean sheet in their last home match, a 1-0 victory over Osasuna on February 21.

At home, Celta have been solid, holding the fifth-best home record in La Liga with 26 points from 13 games. Meanwhile, Leganes have found it difficult on the road, securing just one victory in 13 away league fixtures during the 2024-25 season.

Leganes head into this encounter on the back of a crucial 1-0 win over Getafe, courtesy of Diego Garcia’s dramatic 92nd-minute strike. That result provided a much-needed boost for the relegation-threatened side, who have now collected four points from their last three outings. This recent upturn in form has lifted Borja Jimenez’s squad out of the drop zone, with 27 points from 26 matches placing them in 16th position.

Osasuna also boast a striker who is having an impressive season, as Ante Budimir has scored 14 goals in Spain's top flight. This tally is only surpassed by Robert Lewandowski and Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappé, who have both netted 17 times.

However, Los Rojillos have found it difficult to secure victories recently. Their last win came at the beginning of February, and since then, Vicente Moreno's side have played five matches, drawing three and losing two.

Osasuna head into this match following a thrilling 3-3 draw with Valencia, where Los Che scored late to salvage a point. These recent results have caused them to slip to 11th place in the league table.

Despite this, Moreno's team remains within striking distance of European qualification. They are just five points behind sixth-placed Real Betis, and with many points still up for grabs in the latter stages of the season, a spot in Europe next year is not out of reach.

Osasuna will be aiming to complete a La Liga double over Barcelona, having already defeated the Catalan giants 4-2 in the reverse fixture back in September. Additionally, they have a recent away victory against the La Liga leaders, having triumphed 2-1 in July 2020.
