England, under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel, continue their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign on Saturday night, facing off against Andorra at Barcelona’s RCDE Stadium. The Three Lions lead Group K, while Andorra languish at the bottom, pointless after their first two matches.

Tuchel’s initial stint as England’s manager has been flawless, with two wins, five goals scored, and none conceded. Despite some fans expecting more dominant displays, victories over Albania and Latvia—thanks to goals from Myles Lewis-Skelly, Harry Kane, Jarrod Bowen, and Eberechi Eze—have secured England’s place at the top of the group. Only the group winners earn a direct ticket to the 2026 World Cup.

Building on Lee Carsley’s foundations from the 2024-25 UEFA Nations League, England have now won five consecutive matches across all competitions, scoring at least twice in each and keeping three straight clean sheets. The team has also maintained a 12-game scoring run since their goalless draw with Slovenia at Euro 2024, and failing to extend that streak against Andorra would be a major upset for Tuchel, a Champions League-winning coach.

Andorra, ranked 173rd globally, face a daunting challenge. Managed by Koldo Alvarez, they suffered 1-0 and 3-0 defeats to Latvia and Albania, respectively, with Rey Manaj’s brace and a late Myrto Uzuni goal sealing their fate against the latter.

With a worse goal difference than Serbia, who are yet to play a qualifier in 2025, Andorra’s prospects look bleak. Their only competitive win in the last 25 matches came against San Marino in a friendly, and they’ve failed to score in their four games since.

Historically, England have dominated Andorra, winning all six previous competitive encounters with multiple goals in each and never conceding. For Andorra, a first major tournament appearance remains a distant dream, and avoiding another heavy defeat will be their primary aim on June 7.
