Werder Bremen vs RB Leipzig

With European qualification on the line in the final two weeks of the 2024-25 Bundesliga season, Werder Bremen will welcome RB Leipzig to Weserstadion on Saturday.

The Green-Whites sit in eighth place with 47 points, trailing sixth-placed Leipzig by three points. Leipzig, who hold the Conference League spot, earned a dramatic 3-3 draw against Bayern Munich on May 3.

Werder Bremen surged to a 2-0 lead within 15 minutes against Union Berlin last weekend but managed only three shots inside the box after their second goal, creating no major chances and settling for a 2-2 draw.

The hosts have been solid defensively, conceding just once in their previous five matches, though they leaked four goals in a 4-2 loss to Leipzig in the reverse fixture on January 12.

A loss on Saturday would eliminate Ole Werner’s team from European contention, and even a draw could jeopardize their hopes if Mainz 05 defeats VfL Bochum this weekend.

Werder Bremen have been in fine form, remaining unbeaten in their last six matches with four victories.

At home, the Green-Whites have won two and drawn one of their past three games, but they lost their three prior matches at Weserstadion, conceding nine goals.

Leipzig, meanwhile, let a 2-0 lead slip against Bayern, falling 3-2 before Yussuf Poulsen, assisted by Xavi Simons in the 95th minute, salvaged a draw.
