The 18th round of the 2024 Formula 1 season will take place on Singapore's streets under the lights. on the last four races held here, four different winners have emerged.

Although the Marina Bay Circuit is one of the most aesthetically pleasing and famous courses on the Formula 1 schedule, the drivers constantly face a physical obstacle when competing in the oppressive heat.

After surpassing Red Bull in the Constructors' Championship in Azerbaijan, where Oscar Piastri's incredible victory drive was matched by Lando Norris's incredible recovery from P15 to P4, McLaren is entering this race with a lot of confidence.

Now that Max Verstappen has complained about vehicle balance concerns in Baku, Red Bull will need to step up soon if they want to reclaim the top spot. However, it is unlikely that the team will be able to resolve this in time for Singapore, or perhaps even the remainder of the 2024 season.

After another strong race in Baku, Verstappen's colleague Sergio Perez was headed for a podium finish until a late collision with Carlos Sainz resulted in a double DNF, capping off a disastrous weekend for the team.

following Charles Leclerc was forced to settle for P2 following his accident with Perez, Ferrari faced a situation of "so close, so far." Leclerc had been eliminated from P1 by Piastri, and despite his best efforts, he was unable to overcome the Australian.

After George Russell took advantage of the Perez and Sainz incident to take P3, Mercedes had an unexpected but much-needed podium finish. Lewis Hamilton only managed a few points with his P9 finish, but given the characteristics of the Singaporean circuit, the seven-time champion will be fancying his chances of a higher finish this weekend.

As with Ferrari and Mercedes, Aston Martin's results were also mixed. Although Lance Stroll's early retirement from the race offset Fernando Alonso's strong P6 finish, the English team is very likely to finish fifth in the Constructors' Championship, so much of their attention may already be focused on the development of the car for next year.

With Yuki Tsunoda's DNF and Daniel Ricciardo only managing P13 for the team, RB had their own retirement. Recently, there have been a lot of rumors that Liam Lawson may replace Ricciardo, with some even speculating that Singapore may be his final race for the company.

Haas, on the other hand, will have been pleased when stand-in driver Ollie Bearman, a young Englishman, replaced Kevin Magnussen, who was suspended from Azerbaijan due to accruing too many penalty points, and managed to secure a point for the team with his P10 result.

Bearman's finishing position of P11 meant that Nico Hulkenberg, who has been the key points scorer for Haas this season as the team is presently in seventh place, was unfortunate not to gain points with the German.

With Alex Albon and rookie Franco Colapinto claiming P7 and P8, respectively, Williams surely had their greatest weekend of the season in Azerbaijan; but, downforce and car configuration varied greatly between Baku and Singapore.
