Sheffield United vs Coventry City

The highly important Championship table clash between Sheffield United and Coventry City will take place at Bramall Lane on Friday following their last international break.

The hosts maintain their automatic promotion location but Burnley trails by two points behind while Coventry City occupies fifth place with the same margin above other playoff hopefuls.

The Blades begin their last Championship campaign of the season on Friday with automatic promotion as their primary objective and a possible position atop the standings.

Sheffield United regained their offensive strength following their home against Leeds United which cost them in late February by securing three victories and a draw across four matches before the upcoming international break.

Sheffield United secured another city derby win over Sheffield Wednesday due to Rhian Brewster's scoring effort in the second half of a 1-0 final result at Hillsborough Stadium. This result followed their 1-1 draw with Bristol City which ended with a late 90th-minute equalizer from Mark Sykes after Campbell scored first.

The Steel City club became the league leaders in second-tier wins during that campaign with their total of 25 from 38 matches accumulating 82 points despite starting with a two-point deduction due to which they sat behind Leeds United in second place through goal difference.

With eight games left, they will want to take another step towards an instant return to the top flight with a home victory to reclaim top spot on Friday. However, they are still just two points ahead of third-place Burnley in a close promotion fight.

However, they will have a difficult test because the visitors are in excellent form and are attempting to advance this season.

Coventry City turned to Frank Lampard in late November after their most recent Championship campaign got off to a poor start and longtime manager Mark Robins was fired. Since then, he has led the team to an impressive ascent up the league and into the top six.

In fact, the Sky Blues have accumulated 42 points in 21 league games under their new manager, winning 13 of them and only losing five. Ten of those wins have occurred in their past 12 games since mid-January.

The West Midlands team visited fourth-place Sunderland before the break and recovered with a stunning victory, as Haji Wright scored a hat-trick in a 3-0 victory, after an away setback to Derby County ended a five-match winning streak.

With eight games left, Coventry City hopes to continue where they left off and bolster their playoff claim with another victory at Bramall Lane. They are currently in fifth place thanks to their remarkable climb, but they are still only two points ahead of sixth-place West Bromwich Albion and seventh-place Bristol City.
