Serbia vs South Sudan

The winner of the last game between Serbia and South Sudan on Saturday will have the qualification for knockout phase into the bag.

They both lost their opener to the United States but were able to beat Puerto Rico in their second match they both have records of 1/1. The winners chap will be sure of a place in the knockout stage as the second side in group C while the side that will lose will have to vie for the third place on the basis of tie with the other two teams.

More than likely South Sudan will not move forward after a loss because their point differential is -6. Greece and Brazil are another team that has a point difference of - 8 and -7 meaning and hence if South Sudan loses a match by 3 goals or more, then they will have the worst point difference of all the third place teams of the three countries.

Unless Serbia gets beaten by South Sudan by over 20 points, then they will be going through to the next round which, with a point differential of +15, is almost certain. Nikola Jokic is once again the most critical figure in the Serbian roster, but their best bet for a decent shot at victory is for Bogdan Bogdanovic to be the second option. He’s been good through their first two games, averaging 13 something like that… 5 points, 4. 5 rebounds, and 1. 5 assists, however, if he can up his game in the future then Serbia is a definite contender in the dark.

It truly would be wise for South Sudan to get Nuni Omot on the floor and active as much as they can. The fact that he has not played more than 28 minutes in each of his team’s matches in the first two games, he occupied the second place among his team’s members and the eleventh place among all participants of the tournament in terms of productivity and added 4. 0 rebounds and 2. 5 assists. It would be wiser if they seek help from him against Serbia.
