On Wednesday, Panathinaikos will play the second leg of the Greek Cup semi-finals at Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium against PAOK, the runners-up from the previous season.

Panathinaikos won 1-0 in the first leg in Thessaloniki thanks to a goal by Andraž Šporar in the 53rd minute. Anastasios Bakasetas was sent off in the 77th minute, while PAOK winger Taison was sent off in the 80th, barely 16 minutes after he came off the bench. Both sides had a player sent off in the second half.

Sunday's 4-1 loss to archrival Olympiacos in the Super League Greece only served to prolong the visitors' dismal run. In the 39th minute, Kiril Despodov pulled one back for them, but Olympiacos responded with three goals in the second half to win their second straight.

The hosts were held to a 2-2 draw by Lamia in the Super League Greece on Sunday, extending their winning streak to five games across all competitions. In the first half injury time, Bernard opened the score, and in the 59th minute, Alexander Jeremejeff scored their second goal.Through all contests to date, 200 times have the two teams faced each other.

With a 95-64 advantage in victories and 41 games ending in draws, the home team has the advantage in these encounters.In their three encounters thus far this season, they have been evenly matched, splitting one victory and one tie.Four of Panathinaikos' previous five games across all competitions have seen them play to clean sheets.While traveling, PAOK has a four-game winning run and has kept three clean sheets.Although the past three games in that span have finished in draws, the visitors are unbeaten in their last four away encounters versus the hosts.

It's interesting to note that after 27 Greek Cup matches, both sides have 12 victories apiece and three games have ended in stalemates.The visitors defeated the Shamrock last month in the Super League Greece, capping a five-game winning streak for the team across all competitions. In their previous seven home games, they have only lost once, and in five of those contests, they have scored at least twice.

It's interesting to note that they have won their past three away games against the visitors from Thessaloniki, but they have lost their last four home games in this series.The White-Blacks have lost each of their last three games in all competitions, scoring only twice while giving up six goals. They have won four straight away games in 2024 and have only lost one of their five away games. They will want to continue their success.
