Philadelphia 76ers are expected to take on Orlando Magic at Wells Fargo Center in National Basketball Association play on Thursday. The Sixers are currently second from bottom at 5-14 in the East while the Magic sits third at 15-8 in the East.
The Philadelphia 76ers appear to be coming into some form and will be looking to make it three wins in a row here after a 110-104 victory at the Hornets last night.
Paul George scored 29 points, sinking ten of sixteen shots for his team, and Tyrese Maxey contributed 21 more points for the team; Philadelphia was some 46% for shootings from the field and 16 of 40 for those of three-pointers.
Currently, the Sixers are the second worse team in terms of efficiency on the offensive end scoring 105.4 upward per game, but they make up for that on the defensive end surrendering 111.7 points per game putting them 13th on the league overall.
On the other side, the Orlando Magic will be eager to return to the winning trend after their six-straight games winning streak was snapped by the Knicks last night 121-106 on the road.
Franz Wagner added 30 points to the ineffective team, Moritz Wagner added 20 points and 12 rebounds from the bench, and Suggs scored 14 points in the loss.
Orlando sit 25th in the league for points per game scored (108.0), however they now are the leagues best defence only conceding an average of 103.1 PPG.Utah Magic were at that time on a six games winning streak when facing the Knickerbockers.enter in the NBA on Thursday. The Sixers (5-14) are second-bottom in the Eastern Conference while the Magic (15-8) are third in the conference standings.
The Philadelphia 76ers seem to be building up some momentum and will be aiming for a third straight win here after beating the Hornets 110-104 on the road last night.
Paul George drained 10 of 16 for his 29 points and Tyrese Maxey added 21 points, while as the team, Philadelphia shot 46% from the field and 16 of 40 from beyond the arc.
The Sixers are the second-lowest scoring team in the league at present, putting up 105.4 points per game, though they have been better on defence, allowing 111.7 PPG (13th overall).
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic will be looking to bounce back to winning ways after seeing their six-match win streak halted by the Knicks 121-106 on the road last night.
Franz Wagner once again led the team with 30 points, Moritz Wagner contributed 20 points and 12 rebounds off the bench, while Jalen Suggs added 14 points in the defeat.
Orlando are ranked 25th in the NBA for points scored per game (108.0), but they are now the best defence in the league, allowing just 103.1 PPG.
The Magic were on a six-game win streak heading into their game with the Knicks. They did lost their win streak, however, the Orlando Magic are doing well enough. In there last ten they are 8-2. However, if you look at the games played after November eighth the Magic have won 12 of them and that is why they are perched high in the Eastern Conference. If the Magic could turn it around like they did the last time then I know that they will be able to win this game.
The Magic, in their first meeting with the 76ers played them to a low 86 points. That was while both Joel Embiid and Paul George were on the court. The remaining win for the Magic saw the 76ers miss a total of 40 field goal attempts and 16 from the three point line, which extended up to a shooting of 40.3 percent respectively 32.3 percent. If the Magic can repeat what they did on defense on last Wednesday then they should be able to capture this game on the road.
Philadelphia 76ers require Joel Embiid on the field. Embiid did not play for them in their game on Tuesday but they are going to need him in order to win against the Magic. In aggregate, he has appeared in only four games this season and has not been his best self. That being said he is still one of the purest scorers in the league and does make the 76ers a better team. He has been out now since the game on November 20th, though he should be back on Wednesday, so check that.
In this their first meeting with the Magic the 76ers really struggled to get points on the board. But, at least they were able to hold the 76ers on the upper side limiting their score. The Magic scored only 98 points and converted only 43.6 percent of their overall field goals.
The 76ers also successfully bottled up the Magic for much of the game when it came to deep shooting. Orlando was only 11-37 from the three point line in that match. Honestly, the 76ers are a bad team and even though they lost this game, their defence was a good thing to come out of the game. If they can play the same nascent defensive bent, then Sixers would stand a chance for victory.
