Two Premier League teams on impressive unbeaten streaks will clash at the City Ground this Saturday afternoon, as Nottingham Forest faces off against Fulham.

The Tricky Trees have had a week to recover from their chaotic 2-2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion, while the Cottagers secured a 3-1 victory over an underwhelming Newcastle United.

Last weekend at the Amex Stadium, Forest extended their unbeaten run in the 2024-25 Premier League season with a thrilling four-goal draw. Chris Wood and Ramon Sosa found the net for Forest, while Jack Hinshelwood and Danny Welbeck scored for Brighton.

However, the on-pitch drama was overshadowed by heated altercations late in the game. An enraged Morgan Gibbs-White was sent off for receiving two yellow cards, and both managers—Nuno Espirito Santo and Fabian Hurzeler—were also dismissed 10 minutes from the end.

As a result of last weekend's outbursts, Gibbs-White—Forest’s standout player—will miss the game against Fulham due to suspension, a significant setback to the team’s ambition of remaining unbeaten in their first six matches of the season for the first time in a decade.

The last time Forest managed to avoid defeat in their opening six league games was during the 2014-15 Championship season. Currently sitting eighth in the table, they also had no midweek EFL Cup duties, having been knocked out earlier by Newcastle United.

The hosts have also scored goals in eight straight Premier League games after failing to score against Manchester City at the end of April, but they have lost their last five home games in the top flight, which is the longest losing streak in the league in the twenty-first century.

Last Saturday, Arsenal's Hale End academy was once again grateful for four goals that went into the Craven Cottage nets as Fulham dominated the match against Newcastle United, three of which went in for Marco Silva's wild men.

After Raul Jimenez's well-taken opening, Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson—the latter of whom was put up by Alex Iwobi—broke through the Magpies' defense, and the Cottagers made sure Harvey Barnes's effort would ultimately be in vain.

It was necessary to nullify Newcastle in the wake of Fulham's agonizing elimination from the EFL Cup, as Preston North End prevailed following the longest penalty shootout in the competition's history—34 spot kicks were needed to decide the fate of the Deepdale rivals.

Due to their own four-game unbeaten streak, in which they have both scored and conceded in every game, Silva's team is only one spot and one point worse off than Forest. They are now entirely focused on Premier League concerns until the FA Cup comes around.

Though only after they had crushed the Garibaldi 5-0 at Craven Cottage in December, Fulham's journey to the City Ground last year ended in a comprehensive 3-1 defeat, which put yet another nail in Steve Cooper's coffin.

As previously said, Forest will have to play without top player Gibbs-White for at least one game due to concerns that his term could be increased to a two-match ban. Santo is also awaiting word on whether he would receive a touchline suspension following his FA allegation for improper conduct.

as Sosa has undoubtedly placed his name in the pot to take Gibbs-White's place, the Forest manager might play it safe and stick with Ryan Yates in the starting lineup as Elliot Anderson or James Ward-Prowse advances up the field. However, Sosa could still pose a danger to Anthony Elanga's job.

Though Willy Boly (calf) is very close to returning, Danilo (ankle), Ibrahim Sangare (hamstring), and Willy Boly (hamstring) are still out of contention for the Tricky Trees.

Regarding Fulham's fitness, Carlos Vinicius, who suffered a calf injury, should only be sidelined for the team's trip to Nottingham; nevertheless, the attacker is expected to be back in two weeks.

Barring a possible midfield switch, Silva shouldn't need to rearrange the starting lineup even with a nearly fully-fit squad at his disposal. Sander Berge, who replaced Sasa Lukic at halftime last weekend, is vying for a starting spot.
