Catch the exciting Newcastle United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers match in the Premier League! Both teams are set for an intense showdown as they aim for crucial points.

Newcastle united is on fire under the stewardship of Eddie Howe and will be targeting their ninth straight win in all competition fixtures against the Wolverhampton Wanderers at St James’ Park on Wednesday evening.

The two went past their lower division rivals in the FA Cup encountering this weekend; a hard-fought win against Bromley by the Magpies and a comfortable away victory over Bristol City by Pereira’s men.

Making two huge leaps in the direction of an end to a trophy drought that suggests 68 full years, Newcastle have one leg in the EFL Cup final and will be looking forward to an FA Cup fourth round encounter against Birmingham City next month for their efforts in the past week.

Having poured the ice on Arsenal’s profligacy in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final, Howe’s men did so the tough in the FA Cup against Bromley; Lewis Miley, Anthony Gordon and Will Osula were to cancel out an opener from Cameron Congreve.

Out of the Premier League teams only Nottingham Forest have also collected fifteen points from the last fifteen available but Newcastle’s 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur two weeks ago was a handball disputed one that left Ange Postecoglou angrier then he has ever been after a football match.

This cruet Australian was fuming but for Newcastle they now stand only a point behind fourth placed Chelsea at least until Tuesday evening and Wednesday’s team has now scored at least two goals in each of their last ten games in all competition.

Newcastle's propensity for multi-goal performances results in an exciting matchup with Wolves, who, statistically speaking, are the most entertaining side in the Premier League in 2024–25; their games have featured a division-high 76 goals, 31 goals for and 45 goals against.

This pattern continued into the FA Cup, when Rayan Ait-Nouri and Rodrigo Gomes' goals hammered Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Saturday. The Old Gold have yet to play in a top-flight match with fewer than two goals in the 2024–25 season.

However, 17th-place Wolves are currently only above the relegation zone on goal differential after previous head coach Nuno Espirito Santo orchestrated a 3-0 victory for surprise package Nottingham Forest on January 6. As a result, Vitor Pereira's team has considerably bigger fish to fry in the top flight.

But the Forest-inflicted loss was the first and only one Wolves have experienced under Pereira's tutelage thus far. Since replacing Gary O'Neil, the 56-year-old has managed a three-game unbeaten streak on the road, scoring at least two goals each time.

The Magpies have already won six straight meetings with Wolves, who may possibly lose both league games against the Magpies in a season for the first time in 119 years. The visitors' last victory over Newcastle, however, dates back to October 2021.

The muscular injury that forced Barnes from the pitch at halftime was the only negative note on Newcastle's FA Cup victory over Bromley, and Howe has acknowledged that the winger may miss up to a month of action.

Wolves will undoubtedly have their star forward available again as Newcastle attempts to get him back for Wednesday's meeting. Cunha has served out a two-match suspension and is now fit to lead the Old Gold attack once more.
