On Monday, July 31, Al Nassr will play Monastir at the King Fahd Stadium in the Arab Club Champions Cup in an effort to recover from their disappointing opening-day performance.
Al-Shabab held the Knights of Najd to a scoreless draw on the opening day, which was a disappointing performance. They had fewer shots (7-9), shots on goal (3-5), and possession (48%–52%).
Al Nassr settled for a share of the spoils when manager Luis Castro introduced Cristiano Ronaldo and Talisca as his key forwards in the second half.
Al Nassr only won twice in their six preseason games, which was reflected in the draw. In their first two friendlies, they faced obscurities Alverca and Farense, but in their next two, they were destroyed by Celta Vigo (5-0) and Benfica (4-1). Then, PSG and Inter Milan held them to draws of 0-0 and 1-1, respectively.
Zamalek destroyed Monastir 4-0 in their opening Arab Club Champions Cup match. Bechir Ben Said's own goal in the 27th minute set off the attack, and Ahmed Sayed doubled their lead before halftime.
The Tunisian team was subsequently humiliated beyond repair as Sayed Abdallah scored twice in the second half. Al Nassr are in second place with one point, while Monastir is last in Group C without one.
