Minnesota United and Inter Miami will face off at Allianz Field on Saturday, both looking to build on impressive starts to their Major League Soccer campaigns.

Fresh off victories in their last outings, Minnesota currently ranks second in the Western Conference, while Inter Miami sits fourth in the East.

Minnesota heads into the weekend aiming to secure back-to-back MLS wins and a third consecutive victory across all competitions. Following a sixth-place finish and a Conference semifinal exit in the 2024 season, the Loons have made a strong start this year, collecting 19 points from 11 matches with just two losses.

Their second defeat of the season came against the Vancouver Whitecaps in late April, snapping an eight-game unbeaten streak. However, they quickly returned to form with a convincing 3-0 win over Austin FC, featuring an own goal from Ilie Sanchez and strikes from Anthony Markanich and Joaquin Pereyra. They followed that up with a 1-0 victory over Louisville City in the US Open Cup midweek, thanks to Alisa Randell's decisive goal.

Now riding a wave of momentum, Eric Ramsay’s squad hopes to continue their winning run and solidify their position near the top of the Western Conference.

On the other side, Inter Miami arrives with similar ambitions. After finishing first in the Eastern Conference last season and capturing the MLS Supporters' Shield—though falling in the first round of the playoffs—the Herons have continued their strong form into 2025.

Javier Mascherano’s side has earned 21 points from 10 games and suffered just one loss so far, a narrow 4-3 home defeat to FC Dallas. They bounced back emphatically with a 4-1 win over the New York Red Bulls, as Fafa Picault, Marcelo Weigandt, Luis Suarez, and Lionel Messi all found the net.

With only two points separating them from top spot—and a game in hand—Inter Miami will look to keep the pressure on the conference leaders and potentially move to the summit with another three points this weekend.
