Le Mans faces competition against Paris Saint-Germain title winners during Coupe de France Round 16 at their home stadium MMArena.

Le Mans reached the Coupe de France round of 16 by winning 4-2 against Espaly-Saint-Marcel in the third division and winning a penalty shootout (4-3) against Valenciennes after drawing 1-1.

PSG had to fight for their Round of 16 spot during their last cup match against Espaly because Kevis Gjeci scored early in the third minute.

The match flipped when Warren Zaire-Emery scored for Paris in the first half but Espaly scored again just four minutes afterward before Bradley Barcola (88') and Goncalo Ramos (92') sealed the lead that put Paris through to the round of 16.

PSG maintained their dominance at the round of 16 by advancing through eleven consecutive seasons firstly followed by seven championship victories during that period concluding with their 2-1 victory against Lyon last season.

Paris Saint-Germain moves forward to this match following their Ligue 1 triumph at Brest (5-2) which establishes them 10 points above the rest at the summit.

PSG continues its undefeated streak through the French domestic league this term while keeping their undefeated record active at 59 matches since last season.

Le Mans appears for their fourth time in this cup round while maintaining an unbroken streak of reaching the round of sixteen since 2008-2009.

Le Mans, meantime, had a comparatively easy journey to the round of 32 after defeating Vannes (2-1) and easily defeating Marmande (7-0) and Saint-Colomban Locmine (4-0). However, in their final cup match, they faced the most difficult opponent of the season.

Arnold Vula's goal in the 28th minute gave Les Sang et Or the appearance of another easy victory, but it was their only goal as Les Mucistes were pulled back with eight minutes remaining, forcing extra time. After 120 minutes of fierce play, Patrick Videira's team finally won on penalties.

The French powerhouses have beaten the third-tier team six times in their last eight competitive encounters, so they will need to pull off one of the biggest upsets in recent memory if they want to break that barrier.

With five victories, a penalty shootout victory over Valenciennes, and two draws in their past nine games across all competitions, the hosts are coming into this encounter with a lot of enthusiasm.

Edwin Quashie (ankle), Erwan Cola (back), and Vula (hamstring) are among the three Le Mans players on the treatment table who will not play in Tuesday's game.
