Lazio welcomes Parma to Stadio Olimpico on Monday in Serie A gameweek 34, hoping to halt a two-month winless streak at the stadium.

Marco Baroni's side has benefited from their away record in the fight to finish in the top six, which the Biancocelesti might lose if their four-match winless streak at home continues against the Emilians, who are still not guaranteed a position in next season's top flight.

When Lazio trounced Bologna 3-0 at the end of November, Baroni's side had recently defeated a fifth straight opponent at the Olimpico, having won six of their first seven home games, only surrendering points in late August's 2-2 draw with AC Milan.

After their victory over Rossoblu, Lazio suffered a heavy 6-0 defeat to reigning champions Inter Milan — a loss that signaled the start of their ongoing struggles at home, where they've managed just one win in their last nine matches.

Coach Baroni might have hoped that the emphatic 5-1 win over Monza on February 9 — which snapped a four-game winless streak (including two defeats) — would mark a home revival. However, that success has been followed by four consecutive draws against Napoli (2-2), Udinese (1-1), Torino (1-1), and city rivals Roma (1-1).

Despite their poor home form, Lazio remain competitive thanks to strong performances on the road, winning three of their last four away matches. They currently sit sixth, occupying the final spot that grants entry to the Conference League playoff round.

However, seventh place might also secure a European spot, depending on whether the Coppa Italia winners — Bologna (currently fourth) or Milan (ninth) — finish inside the top six.

Still, Lazio will aim higher to avoid any uncertainty, as they are just one point behind fourth-placed Bologna and level on points with Juventus, both sitting on 59.

Looking to spoil Lazio’s bid to end their home drought are Parma, who historically struggle at the Olimpico. Under Cristian Chivu's leadership, the Gialloblu aim to break an eight-match losing streak in Rome when they meet Lazio on Monday.

The away side has improved since Chivu took charge, losing only once in eight top-flight games — a 1-0 defeat at Udinese — although Parma only recently secured their second victory under the former centre-back in a midweek 1-0 win over Juventus.

While five of their eight games under Chivu have been in draws, Parma has 11 points in Serie A, two fewer than Monday's opponents, underlining the development in Emilia-Romagna and the decline in the capital.

These wins put the Emilians six points ahead of Venezia and Empoli in 18th and 19th place, respectively, with five games remaining, putting the promoted club closer to safety.
