The Aces' season hasn't been simple. In addition to being an honor, defending their title carries a great deal of duty. Although they easily qualified for the playoffs, their regular season fourth-place result felt insufficient. But they promptly demonstrated their postseason strength by sweeping the Seattle Storm 2-0 in the opening round.

One of their hardest problems has been the Liberty series. Even though they played well, they had trouble traveling and lost both of their games in New York. Game 3 was played at home, and the Aces won decisively, 95-81, with no room for error.
