Certainly the headline fixtures in the NBA on Friday will be coming from teh FedEx Forum where Memphis Grizzlies and the Houston Rockets will be featuring. The Grizz are third in the Western Conference with a record of twenty-four and thirteen and the Rockets are second with a record of twenty-four and twelve.

The Grizzlies will get an opportunity to tie with Rockets in this one and will play the game after upsetting the Mavericks 119-104 on Tuesday but missing a lot of players due to injury.

Jaren Jackson Jr scored 35 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and contributed five assists; Memphis pulled on top in the second half scoring 63-49 from their opponents before the final countdown.

The highest-scoring team this season is the Grizz, with an average of 123.1 points per game, but they give up 114.7 points per game, ranking 14th.

On the other, Houston Rockets spring another upset, setting their sights on a third win in a row after dismantling the hapless Wizards 135-112 on the road on Wednesday.

It was Jalen Green lighting up the scoreboard for 29 points on 10 of 22 shooting but Sengun and Thompson also scored over 20 in the rout.

This season, the Rockets score 112.9 points per game, ranking 12th in the league, but the team ranks third in the league for points allowed per game with 106.8.
The Rockets and the Grizzlies are in a fierce struggle right now for the second place in the Western Conference. Although both teams were considered beatable in the near future nobody thought that these two teams will become members of this new elite so soon.

It is most important, that both teams were able to remain in their superior positions despite of severe losses. Houston has since registered two victories after the incident, and tonight they are up against Memphis who has it worse in terms of personnel available. Jabari Smith Jr. (11.9 ppg) has been ruled out for up to two months due to a fractured left metacarpal.

I believe there is a definite side to take on the total in addition to betting for the Rockets to win tonight. Both of these teams have been playing to the Over lately, and they are among the league's top offensive units. These teams have combined for 236 points in their opening match of the season, and the Over is 5-2 in their last seven meetings.

It only makes sense to wager on Jalen Green to reach a respectable scoring total if we anticipate the Rockets to score a lot of points. The 22-year-old has scored at least 20 points in each of his last four games, so I'm picking him to do so tonight.

Houston defeated the Grizzlies by 20 points in their season opener. In the victory, the Rockets limited the Grizzlies to just 108 points. Only five times during the season have the Grizzlies been held below 110 points. In the game, Memphis only made 61.1 percent of their free throws while shooting 41.8 percent. Even though they might not be able to keep the Grizzlies below 110 points, they can still win this game by slowing down and limiting the Grizzlies' score.

On the offensive end of the court, Houston performs poorly. They have the third-lowest field goal % and the second-lowest three-point percentage in the NBA, despite averaging 112.9 points per game. The Grizzlies must capitalize on the Rockets' poor shooting performance. The Grizzlies will have a strong opportunity to cover the spread at home if the Rockets shoot a low percentage.
