The Golden State Warriors face off with Houston Rockets at Chase Center on Sunday night in their sixth straight victory attempt with automatic playoff placement as their goal.

The Rockets go to Chase Center to face the Warriors although they have already clinched post-season play. The Rockets still seek their first victory in spite of losing their last seven regular-season visits since their 135-105 triumph of February 2020.

On Friday night the soaring Golden State Warriors achieved a significant victory during their efforts to stay out of the Western Conference play-in tournament by dominating Denver Nuggets 118-104.

At Chase Center the Nuggets took an early 12-point lead in the first quarter but Warriors surged ahead with their own double-digit lead by the third quarter that pushed them to victory.

Stephen Curry led San Francisco with 36 points during this match while Jimmy Butler and Brandin Podziemski delivered a total of 45 points. Nikola Jokic became the top scorer with 33 points and came up one notch shy from his historic 32nd triple-double performance this season.

The Warriors have attained five straight victories followed by double victories against Western Conference leaders Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Lakers and Nuggets over the past four days.

The Warriors earned their twenty-first victory since losing twice to the Jazz and Lakers in February as they moved up to fifth position in the Western Conference standings just behind the fourth-placed Nuggets by half a game.

The Houston Rockets have been on a dominant run, winning five of their last six games—their only loss coming in a 104-98 defeat to the Lakers on April 1. Since dropping three straight in early March, they’ve surged with an impressive 14-2 record over their last 16 games.

Under Ime Udoka’s leadership, the Rockets have climbed to a 51-27 record after 78 games, securing second place in the Western Conference. They now hold a comfortable four-game lead over the third-place Lakers with just four matchups left in the regular season.

However, their next challenge won’t be easy—a road game against the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center. The Rockets have struggled in San Francisco, losing their last seven meetings there. The Warriors, meanwhile, come into Monday’s game in strong form, having won 10 of their last 11 home contests.
